What is the Stornoway Music Development Centre?
The Stornoway Music Development Centre is a creative space designed to support musicians, bands, producers, tutors and community projects across the Outer Hebrides.
Based in Stornoway, the centre provides affordable, flexible spaces for rehearsals, recording, song writing, teaching, workshops and creative development.
Whether you’re preparing for a live show, writing new material, recording demos or running music lessons, SMDC aims to provide accessible professional facilities that help support and grow the local music community.
Rehearsal Room
Rehearsal room equipped with Drum Kit, Guitar Amps, Bass Amp, PA System, Microphones, DI’s and a Mixing Desk. Just bring your instruments!
Studio/Tutorial Room
A multipurpose music space. Useful for Music Tutorials, Workshops and setup as a DIY Recording Studio. Bring your laptop and plug into the system!
